What is the Media Outreach Program? PCHS has recognized that there are significant barriers to accessing health and social services in the South Asian Community. PCHS has developed relations with the media persons in the community so that awareness and education is provided on such topics as – Domestic Violence, Addictions, Mental Health, Seniors Issues, Parenting, and Health Promotion. PCHS also promotes other organizations and their programs so that the South Asian community can access their services.  Who can benefit? South Asian Community Social and Health Service Providers  What are the major benefits? The benefits are substantial and include: Services are in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu Awareness on a variety of topics for the community Stigma is combated through education Program awareness Agencies become known in the community  How are referrals made? Agencies can call PCHS to be on the South Asian media  Where is the Program located? Watch – every Saturday, Community ConneXion at 2:30pm, 851 Rogers Cable  What are the hours of operation? Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  |
