Malton Community Building Project

The project is created to promote greater civic engagement and community development in Malton by empowering adult and youth leadership in the Black and South Asian Community with the aim of developing and strengthening new and existing formal and informal community networks. The Malton Community Building Project focuses on community engagement, collaboration, parent education, health, literacy, recreation, support, training and sustainability. “South Asian Community” refers to people from the Indian sub-continent and from the South Asian Diaspora.

Malton Youth Centre Initiative

The Youth Centre Program provides services to Youth from the South Asian and the Black community. Research has indicated that Youth are experiencing problems in the areas of education, relationships and career development. Some South Asian and Black Youth are involved in drug use, gang activities & violence. PCHS has developed a collaborative approach in addressing these concerns. Two Youth Outreach Workers, one for the South Asian and the other for the Black community are available to help youth from both communities.
