Volunteer Application Process

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Punjabi Community Health Services. Your time can make a difference. Volunteer with us and create a positive impact in the community.

STEPS TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Please note that the age criteria for volunteering at PCHS is 16 years or older.

1. Submit an Application Package which should include the following documents (incomplete applications will not be considered):

2. Email Application Package to peersupport@pchs4u.com, with the following subject: “Volunteer Application- (insert first and last name) * please specify if you would like to be a general or peer support volunteer

3. Selection: Candidates that meet our volunteer guidelines and are a good fit for our programs will be contacted for an interview. Once the interview has been successfully cleared the candidate must provide us with a cleared vulnerable sector check (if 18 years and older) from their respective police service.

NOTE: We accept volunteer applications on an ongoing basis however, due to the large volume of applications and a limited number of volunteer positions we will only contact those candidates who have been selected for an interview.

Volunteer Position Descriptions:

General Volunteer:
Our general volunteers will assist with community events, administrative tasks, and program support.

Peer Support Volunteer:
Peer Support is “emotional and practical support between two people who share a common experience, such as a mental health challenge or illness. A Peer Supporter has lived through that similar experience, and is trained to support others. The PCHS Peer Support Program currently works with the following teams:( to get more information on our programs please go to the about us section found on the following link:) Peer Support Volunteers would be teamed with a Case Manager and client based on the needs of the client and the experience of the Peer Support Volunteer.

Student Placement Process

Thank you for your interest in doing your placement with Punjabi Community Health Services. During their time here at Punjabi community health services (PCHS) students gain practical experience related to their field of study.
We assist with supervision and teaching in the following fields:

Please note that you must be enrolled in a program relevant to the social services field to apply.
